Therapy

Our family relationships are the most influential when it comes to our day-to-day lives and our overall life satisfaction. Families can come up on hard times for a variety of reasons, and we are here to help you and your family find peace again. Family therapy aims to strengthen the family unit as a whole and address underlying issues to help the family function in a healthy way. Through the time spent in sessions, family members will learn to communicate effectively, address underlying issues within the family structure, gain insight into themselves as individuals but also gain insight into the members of their family, and ultimately pave the way for their family to thrive.

Unlike individual therapy where the therapist is focused solely on the one client, Family Therapy requires the family unit as a whole to become the client. This means that no singular person within the family structure is the primary focus and no person within the family will be receiving individual therapy from the therapist.

Cost of Family Therapy

Why Doesn’t Insurance Cover It?

Family Therapy is not usually covered by health insurance because it’s not deemed “medically necessary”.

In order for coverage to apply, a mental health diagnosis is necessary.  So when it comes to family therapy, a mental health diagnosis is usually not appropriate. This is because “relationship issues” is not considered a mental health diagnosis by insurance company standards.
